Time to Clean Out & Let Go

Take heart that you are not alone.  2016 February is a clean out month.  Everyone's true nature will be out and it's time to clean out and let go for the new to come.

In astrology, although mercury retrograde ends 25th January 1:50pm.  Its shadow period will last until 14th February.  We will continue to revisit our work, be clear of what we want to be, get organized and connect with key collaborators that support our goals. Jupiter is in retrograde from January until 9th May and its shadow will linger until 8th August. Jupiter signifies a time to hone our skills and connect with ourselves.

In Bazi, we enter the year of the Fire Monkey on 4th February at 17:48.  This is a fire sitting on a metal monkey year where fire will burn and melt the metal.  This creates conflicts so issues will surface but will melt away what does not serve us.  If we have the strength and courage to go through this fire, we will have our break throughs.  This is a time where we have to be like water, to go with the flow, to be gentle, flexible and creative to make a path for ourselves.

This Febuary, the theme is "Letting go".  We are asked to:
  • spring clean our lives,
  • assess what matters to us (to decide whether to live 3-D three dimensional lives or multi-dimentional beings that we are blessed to be)
  • let go of things that do not add to our growth or resonate with our new vibration
  • renew trust in ourselves (to connect with ourselves, especially our higher self, connect with our divine lineage, believe in our calling) to exciting new possibilities and opportunities
  • hone our skills (learn, equip, focus on developing our gifts and talents)
  • renew our attitudes (reflect on ourselves, the good bad and ugly, give vs take, be humble, appreciate, render servce)
  • re-define ourselves (our vision, purpose, what we stand for, a new us)

Here are some examples of how people start to show their true nature and we realize we have not seen that side of themselves.
  • Someone who felt insecure tried poison the minds of others against you
  • Someone bit your hand that fed him
  • Friends who showed their true nature in social bantering and self-serving cliques
  • Someone whom you looked up to failed
  • Someone you teamed up with forgot his commitment to you

This is also a time when we see a mirror reflection or how we react that show up our own ugly sides which we need to clean up. I learn these precious lessons.
  • External opinions are just opinions, they should not affect me
  • I do not need encouragement, praise and attention to feel good about what I do
  • Trust in the divine to guide me to success despite the obstacles and ill-intentions by others

It would be nice to pause and count our blessings. I am grateful to be blessed in many ways:
  • A loving hubby, my family and my hubby's family
  • Three lovely fur kids that remind me of a lion, bison and goat from my past lives
  • Friends who understand and encourage me
  • A new spiritual family that is on a similar journey
  • Revealing of my divinity, royalty and lineage that is most powerful and sacred
  • My continued growth to be my higher divine self
  • Opportunity to share and render service to others, that they may be relieved of worldly issues and grow in their journey of self realization

So this is the time of testing, and we must continue our journeys. I resolve to...
  • Continue my daily intention and affirmation and mediation
  • Persevere to keep doing what I have been asked to do with unconditional love
  • Know that everything will be accomplished in time
  • Have patience, trust and belief in myself
Here is a good advice from Michelle K, "Financial wealth is created when we know in our hearts and our minds that our in present circumstances our needs and dreams are already fulfilled. When we are able to tap into our deepest resources and become aware of our true power and limitlessness, all that is ours by divine birthright can flow effortlessly to us."

Five planets in Alignment in Singapore

Five planets in Alignment: Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venue & Mercury

For the first time in a decade, Singaporeans will be able to view a rare astronomical sighting.  Five planets — Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury — will align in a straight line and will be seen together in the skies.

Astrological Phenomena

The Science Centre Singapore said the celestial conjunction will last from Wednesday 20th January until the end of February. 27th January will offer an extra special view as the Moon will also come into alignment with the five planets.

Usually, we see the five planets in the night sky at different times of the night. It is thus a special event to observe all five planets in the night sky at one time.

Mercury is also hard to view as the planet is close to the Sun and is faint due to Singapore's sky not being very dark.

Best Times To View The Alignment

The best timing to see all five planets will be around 6am, especially when there is a high and unobstructed view to the eastern horizon.

Each night at around midnight, Jupiter will be the first planet that will come into view. Jupiter’s sighting will then be followed by Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury.

On 27th January, when the Moon comes into alignment with the five planets, Jupiter and Venus will be the brightest of the planets. Jupiter will be more or less directly overhead at 6.30am, and Venus on the eastern horizon. Jupiter and Venus can be used to locate the other planets. Mars will be halfway between Jupiter and Venus, and Saturn will be approximately halfway between Venus and Mars.

Another good opportunity to get the best view of the planets will be on the weekend just before Chinese New Year. This will be when Mercury, located near both the Moon and Venus, will be the easiest to spot.  These are on  6th February 6:30am and 7th February 6:30am

How to distinguish planets from stars

One easy tip to distinguish the planets from regular stars is to close one eye, stretch out your arm and slowly pass your thumb over a bright dot in the sky.  Jason Kendall, a member of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York, told the New York Times. If the dot slowly dims out when your thumb passes over it, it’s a planet. If it quickly blinks out, it’s a distant star.

Saturn can be found above Venus. You can use your hand as a rough guide - hold your hand at arms' length, and spread your fingers apart as far as possible. You should see two points of light above your thumb. The right most one will appear reddish - this is the star Antares, in the constellation of Scorpius. Saturn is the brighter point on its left, and will appear cream-white.

Mars will appear overhead. The Moon will also be a good guide to finding this planet. You will also likely see the star Spica, in the constellation of Virgo. To tell the two apart, look at their colours - Mars is reddish and Spica is white. Both will appear equally bright.

Next Sighting

The Science Centre Singapore said the astronomical alignment is likely to happen again in August this year. According to the UK’s Royal Astrological Society, the five planets will then not be seen together again until October 2018.

Harness Energy Of Mercury Retrograde

6 Jan 2016. Mercury retrograde.

In astrology, mercury retrograde started on 5th January 5:06am until 25th January 1:50pm PST.  Its shadow period will last until 14th February.  This is a time to revisit our work, to get organized, structured and to work hard. It is also a time to solidify the friendships and collaborations that support our goals.  This is an excellent time to put our lives in order and to be clear on what we want and where we are heading.

I launched Facebook community for The Hula Life to start sharing to raise self awareness & consciousness.

As I was about to wind down for the day, something sparked in me in the evening to start creating the facebook community immediately.

So in a couple of hours, I created the picture of the profile and cover photos, put together two events photo & description of what had been planned for Jan & Feb. It was done very quickly fast.

By right most chaos happens during mercury retrograde where things seem to stop but are actually moving. The usual advice is to ride it out vs start new things.

I was not particularly conscious of the Mercury Retrograde.  When I looked it up, I found that there is also a Neptune/ Venus combi.  That means that we can harness the energy & unconditional love with us & others. Sun & Pluto conflict can purge & allow us to use what we have for personal good will towards collective good of others.

I am taking an unconventional risk to harness the massive energy in flux. I pray if done with love & positive intentions it will magnify. Just need to keep reinforcing it over next few days to project it on its course.

New Birth Of Enlightenment On Winter Soltice

This Sunday in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, we lighted the last candle to herald in the coming week of celebration of baby Jesus Christ.

This is also the time for Winter Soltice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.  Soltice means "sun stopping" in Latin.  The sun reaches its highest position in the sky and the axil of the earth is at the maximum of 23° 26'. This year, it occurs on 21st December 2016 at 10:44 GMT or 22nd December 2016 12:49 SGT.

Could it be that there is some universal spiritual order is in place for divine beginnings at Winter Soltice?
Perhaps Winter Soltice is a special time that we will experience a new birth, a new beginning?

Here is my understanding as gleaned from "The Meaning of The Winter Soltice" in the book "The Path of The Spiritual Sun" by Belsebuub & Angela Pritchard 2011.

Light is born in darkness

In the bible, it is written.."In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divded the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." Genesis 1:1-5

As the sun rises out of the darkest day of the year on Winter Soltice, it echos the birth of light from the dark void on the first day of creation. So the connection between the winter solstice and the birth of the sun is at the dawning of creation.

Physical Sun & Spiritual Fire

The Genesis creation story of the natural is mirrored in stories of other spiritual cultures of the supernatural phenomenon.  The sun that exists in the physical world also exists in the higher dimensions as a spiritual fire. The spiritual sun is a living and divine fire, and the highest source of all creation.

The birth of the sun also represents the birth of the spiritual sun within an individual in the process of enlightenment.  Just as the physical sun is born in the darkest hour gives life to the external world, the spiritual sun gives life to the individual.

The creative process which gives birth to the universe, also gives birth to the spiritual within a human. The divine savior is not just born into the world, they can be born within us - the spirit entering the body.

Winter Soltice In Other Cultures

Separated by vast space and time, it appears that at least three civilizations had celebrated the birth of a divine child and saviour during this time of Winter Soltice.
  • among the Druids with the birth of Alban Arthan
  • in ancient Egypt with the birth of Horus
  • in Bethleham with the birth of Jesus Christ.
These are all divine saviours associated with the sun, who taught humans how to achieve enlightenment, to become a "son of God".

Potential Of Consciousness

Every human is a latent spiritual potential that is asleep.  But once we choose to search for it, we will always discover our true purpose for being here and realize our potential.  The work of enlightenment is found written in the cosmos in the movement of the sun and the stars, written in ancient texts and spiritual monuments to always point towards enlightenment.

Cultures Evolve Around The Sun

As the sun rises out of the darkest day of the year on Winter Soltice, it echos the birth of light from the dark void on the first day of creation. So the connection between the winter solstice and the birth of the sun at the dawning of creation is why the ancient Egyptians aligned their Temple of Karnak, the largest temple in the world, to the winter solstice sunrise and dedicated it to their supreme creator God Amun. This temple was devoted to creation, and was even expanded upon according to the Fibonacci sequence, which is a mathematical principle found in the growth and expansion of life.

Chinese Yin and Yang at Winter Soltice

In Asia, the Winter Soltice Festival or Dōngzhì Festival (Chinese: 冬至; pinyin: Dōngzhì; literally: "the extreme of Winter") started from the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD) and thrived in the Tang and Song dynamics (518 - 1279).

The Chinese believe in the theory of Yin and Yang.  Yin is feminine and represents the dark while Yang is masculine and represents the light.  At Winter Soltice, the Yin is at its peak and will disappear. The Yang will appear at Winer Soltice and grow stronger day by day.  If Yin-Yang is balanced, there is equilibirum, but when one breaks off, it signifies the start of a change.  The Yang energy at Winter Soltice will give birth to creation, light, positive energy.  This can be why we see energy fluctuations in the Cosmo during this season.

The Chinese believe that the Winter Soltice is an auspicious date of celebration. Everyone is believed to grow a year older on Winter Soltice and is advised to turn to good behaviour after this.  It is interesting that the ancients link new birth to new year of life at Winter Soltice.
While most of this knowledge has been lost, the Chinese keep up the festive food celebration.  Even today in modern China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and parts of Asia where there are Chinese, it is celebrated with a family gathering where a sweet dessert made of glutinous rice balls tangyuan (湯圓) is served.  Everyone grows one year older and the sweets remind us of a new way of life - never-ending love, warmth, happiness, reunion, good fortune and abundance.

So let us remember on this Winter Soltice to seek a new birth and enlightenment to our spiritual life!

Hula is the language of the heart

Hula is the language of the heart.

To have a Hula Life is to live life from the heart.

We believe in love. We believe in the power of love to conquer the world.

It starts from the inner folds of each of our hearts, learning to first love our true self.

And then it reaches out to touch those around us and then the world.

So, I say to my inner self. I love you! I love you! I love you!
